Thanks, I'm glad there are some people who don't hate my "over" processing. I increased the exposure of the highlights, I increased the darkness of my shadows and darks, I added a little contrast on top of that, I increased the blue and green tones in white balancing, I added a split-tone effect where the highlights are redish/yellow to make the hands look more warm than they were before, I added a blue/green hue to the shadows, I added vignetting, I changed the hue of the red again to make the hand seem warm and not so pale, and then I added a little vibrance to bring out all those greens.

I use Lightroom for all of this by the way, it's a complete lifesaver, even if you don't need to alter the photo so much, it can still be used to make a photo look "original" but not so dull... I tend to go another route as you can see ;)

Here is the image before any post.

It's shitty. In fact I've found that I like a lot of images that I hated before I opened them in Lightroom, so now I just keep in mind that the post could improve, but not save, an image from being dull. It's important to get everything good like composition in the original, but then alter colors and contrast later to make it according to your tastes. Every time that I've felt guilty about using so much post, I just think of how film photographers can't even see their images without any processing.

Thx Killian

Great little tutorial :D

I'm heavy on post myself normally have 2 or 3 different copies of a single image all slighty different,
I do take shots with post in mind, as you say taking a dull image and making something from it :D

Thanks once agian

Nice shots Max...I havent had the camera out much lately which stinks, I have been busy at work then a little Vegas vacation, and I have been working on my photography book. But I did have it out the other day at the bar and got a couple of shots of my buddies kids here are my 2 favorites.
