Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

I've been playing with this nearly all day and it hasn't crashed or behaved badly once. It really needs dual core support ASAP ! Even better if it could split a single frame onto several PCs for network rendering.

As a Maxwell user though you have to realise that somethings just take time to render out.

Having said that I am starting to get some nice(ish) renders out of it. If I ever get close to some of the example images on the planetside web site then I will be delighted. Wonder what the final pricing is going to be ?

I would be sweet if you could export an mxi/hdr spherical environment out of terragen and then use it in maxwell for lighting, reflections, etc.

$200 for basic version, $300 for animation version, remove $100 each for an upgrade from TG 0.9, i've just got the email... this TG2 looks very promising!

skies are just great...awesome clouds!

That pricing is pretty good. I was expecting a little higher. I will probably only need the basic version as I only ever do stills but even at $300, the animation version looks interesting.

... it's possible with TG 0.9 and some scripts/plugins. A direct export could be great. Is on the TG wishlist?

I've not had the time to really get into TG2 yet, but what I have played with shows great promise.

My first couple of tests, both rendered in under an hour, max samples 3, detail 1 & 800x600 (limit of free version).

The multilayered clouds are fantastic, as are the localised terrain & water areas. The object & plant distribution system is good too.

You can export hdr/exr directly from TG2 & terrain files can be exported as LWO/LWS objects. Good for importing into Studio, but I've not had chance to test this yet.

Looking forward to playing more, when I have the time.
