Hey Does anyone know if setting "Color Quality" in windows Display Prop. Settings from 32bit(default w/ my nvidia quadro fx1000) to 16bit gives your system a performance boost?
I know that switching from 32bit to 16 bit messes up some icons transparency.. and will possibly show color banding in pictures.. But I run windows with "best performance settings" no fancy round menus and such so I dont care how ugly my icons look.. and i can handel banding.. esp when im just modleling or working with non photo stuff.. So will this increase the speed of my apps.. like maya? or do apps run better in 32 bit mode? I turn it from 16 to 32 and try to work in maya but i really cant tell much of a difference.. I was wondering if anyone could help explain if graphics processing would be faster in 16bit mode..
thanks

Also I once read ppl using the /3gb startup in windows (which I do-cuz I got 3 gigs o ram) but then someone mentioned that there is other things you can type in startup line to change how win handels memory(ram)
