Ouden -

Wow! Thanks so much, this has been so needed by us all. I installed and gave it a quick test on my SU5/powerbook g4 1.67 set-up, it seems to work fine. I will test further and perhaps comment in the next few days. But, it is really great to see that you take some initiative on this and that there is some GOOD news about maxwell in these days...!

BTW, have you posted on PushPullBar? ( http://www.pushpullbar.com or http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18 ) I think that the folks over there would really appreciate to hear about/explore your contribution. { I hope you don't mind, but I started a thread there on your plugin. }

best wishes, and again thanks.

Thanks for this excellent tool! Is this really your first ruby, you must be some kind of wizard…

Do you think it is possible to make a script work so that could set all faces in the model with the same SU material to a specific mxs material? Maybe even inside different groups? Maybe you could add that option to the menu you get when you left click on a material in the material browser?

I think this would become a really intuitive UI.

Thanks again Ouden,
I just had a few minutes to test the new Set Texture Throughout. It seems to work so that it will set the Maxwell setting of the current face to all faces in the model, not just to the faces with the same SU material.
Would it be more logical to have two options:
Set This Material to… (and then set dielectic, metal etc. throughout to the same SU material)
Set Selection to… (and then set dielectic, metal etc. to selection only)

I tested the tool also on my laptop, and I have the same problem there; set texture throughout makes everything in the model the same Maxwell material, not just faces with the same SketchUp material. Am I the only one having this problem?

texture throughout

I don't get it to work at all. The command does not seem to work in my case. Still, I love the plugin for the rest and I truly appreciate the efforts made here. Thanks so much. Hope the texture troughout command will work somehow though, seems a super handy tool.

Right click on the download link and select save link as... and select your sketchup plugins folder for the download destination. That's all there is to it. Next time you launch sketchup the context menu will be there.
