SU-MR - Maps tutorial for the dummy...

Hi all, I'm learning slowly how to work with the different maxwell materials, and would like to know step by step how to use any map ( eg. wood floor, jpg format file brought into SU) and how i can manage to have Maxwell render it. For now, if I apply it with the bucket and render, its just plain white. If I choose diffuse with 0/0 settings it stays white, same when i play with the numbers, and same if I use the maxwell maps/diffuse option... but am not sure how to use the latest stuff.
Can someone explain me clearly the steps on how to get a jpg texture rendered in MR from SU ( on windows). I'm willing to invest into a sketchup license, and until know am pretty happy with my tests, but I need to play around a bit more to be convinced.. I find there is sill a bit of limitations.
Will the 1.0 release of MR clear all problems by providing a built in library so we can use the maps in MR and just pick them in MR?
Thnx
Nils

Here you are. I hope it helps, it's very basic. I think what you're doing is forgetting to set the material (as diffuse or whatever).

That's funny. It works fine for me. The file is a pdf. When I click on the link Acrobat Reader opens right up just fine.
Can someone else verify that the link is jacked up?

Yes tried to open it directly from firefox on mac, but it showed up numbers etc.. after saving it and renaming it to PDF it works fine
So thnx for the massive help Indeed you need to first set the object's / face to diffuse or plastic etc... BEFORE applying any maps to it. Also another stuff i've noticed is the fact that reverse face ( right click) also can provide the solution ( after applying MR 's material then the SU map.
I'm convinced

I still have a few issues with emitters, succeded in modeling a small box with a face that emits ( i saved it as component then change its size depending on what i need etc..) Any one has a small idea on how to make an emiter that works each time in SU... When i try to create one by just selecting a face, it appears all black in MR.... strange..
Anyway i'm 100% SU sales are going to increase QUICK after MR comes out.. For an architect like me, beeing able to produce your own Images while having a great modeling tool like SU is a great improvement (quick and good work !)
ANy SU> MR tutorial topic is welcomed
Thnx Nils

Can someone post a tutorial so a dumbass like me knows how to correctly post a pdf link? Geez, I dropped the ball on that one.
