strange layer bug

I'm having a weird issue with MR ( on PC)
I'm using diffuse materials ( or plastic no difference in the issue) for a small kitchen study. All cabinets have the same color ( aka sketchup red), then each component is edited, diffuse set, and then saved, then the component itself is set on the same diffuse setting ( O for both )
Issue: when i'm calculating with no other layer on, all the components act normally ( aka they are all red), but when i use any other layer and put it visible, some of the components turn white, as if the other layer made the component act weird ( all components on same layer).
Any hint on how i shall resolve that annoying issue?
Another thing> since using beta5 plug, i cannot get to the options settings ( export 3D > options : it makes sketchup freeze..)
