using the physical sky, when i enter the time location (midday in auckland) it is very dark. to get a daytime sky i need to dial up a time in the early hours of the morning. is this a bug or have i missed something ??

The only thing I can think of is that the location is not set properly. Go to SU menu - Window/Model Info, select Location and set location according to your actual location. There are presets there or you can create a custom location if you need it.
If this fails please let me know - I will follow up on that.

thanks for the response. the north point and sun angles all seem to work correctly in SU model however i notice that the latitiude is expressed without the minus sign in front of it like in Maxwell. If I put it in the night and day are then reversed. It would be preferable if both program worked the same.
