Hi,

I can't find a way of creating instances in SketchUp for exporting to Maxwell. The SketchUp to Maxwell plug-in manual doesn't mention the feature either. A serious oversight if that is the case. I haven't been able to use Maxwell in my latest productions since the export from SketchUp always crashes due to too complex models (lots of trees). Now I have to continue to phase out Maxwell from my production and replace it with Modo since instancing is essential to me.

yeah...taht will suck..i was being positive about it and hoping components would equal instances..since that is essentially what a component is in sketchup..

This seems like something that would be somewhat simple to do. What 1.6 features are supported in Sketchup with a direct export?

Instances are not supported in the current version of the plugin - it is being worked on though...
