Just wondering if there is any news on an updated plugin for MR V1.5? I haven't installed the latest (that released with 1.5) due to reports of it being buggy!

Hi Jake!
...wonder if we have the same problem
I am just getting started with maxwell 1.5. I was quit familiar with 1.1.
I just play around with basic settings and wonder what happened to the shadows...
I export a scene from su: shadows turned on and shot is taken at 3.30 in the afternoon ;maxwell environment set to physical sky... as i always did in maxwell 1.1
the resulting renderings appears without shadows. looks like the picture is taken in the early morning...
i do have pictures, how do i attach them,
Does anyone have a solution for this!
best regards from germany!

It the same solution we have had to use for the last three "fixed" plugin updates.
In SketchUp, go to your model info and change your location to somewhere in the UK. Should work. Or change it to a location 12 hours ahead of your current timezone I guess depending where you are.
This has been a problem forever. I really have given up on the "plugin to render" pipeline from SketchUp. Just does not work well at all. Better to export an mxs and open in Studio. Studio seems to work fine.
To attach images you need to use your own server or something like ImageShack.

Hi Jake!
thanks for your quick reply. I will change the time to somewhere far west (+12h). - In maxwell 1.1 i received good quality renderings. no delay in time settings!
I never really used maxwell studio to assign materials, the navigation seemed to be less "handy" than within su.
I will try to get this fixed, i´ll let you know if i succeed!
regards!

The same question as in the other thread where this is discussed - are you on OSX Intel or on OSX PPC?

I am not able to reproduce the problem - can you please send me the skp and mxs file showing the error? Do you use the latest version of the SU plugin?
Thank you.

Hi Jens,
I checked your scene. You did not have 'Use Sun Light' checked in the Maxwell Environment settings. Does this look better? Also, I'd advise installing the Film&Stage plugin for SketchUp, that way your Maxwell output image will match your SU view.

Hi Pavol!
...thanks for checking! i enabled sunlight. it looks better, but only in los angeles (usa), not for germany as location. but that´s ok for now...

Hi Jens,
I didn't change the location in the test - it was set for Frankfurt, Germany and the shadows match the SU model. The only thing I did was check "Use Sun Light'.
