Well I took an intel powerbook

And installed Sketup Pro 6 (No sketch had been installed before) and the Jan 27 plugin... still no Maxwell Export ... any ideas

where did you put things? Parts go into the application contents folder and other parts in the library/application support/google sketchup/plugins folder...
Mine is working with 6.0 and the 27th plugin.

Well I put the SkpToMXS.plugin and the MaxwellExport.rb
in the
/MacintoshHardDrive/Library/ApplicationSupport/GoogleSketchUp6/Sketchup/plugins folder
And that is pretty much it...
Would love to here more ideas

If you didn't, you need to put the "SkpToMXS.plugin" inside the application content folder. Right click on the SketchUp application and "show Contents" Then navigate to the Plugins folder one or two levels down. You'll see other "SkpToXXX.plugin"
The other contents of the plugin download go where you have already placed them.
That should get you going!

I would just add that the new version of the SketchUp plugin will include installation package for OSX as well so you will no longer have to copy the files manually...
