I have Sketch running and can see the Maxwell Export plugin and assign all sorts of things there.... but how do I assign MX files to the objects... and how do I export the MXS file...

When I go to Export all th eOBJ, FBX, DXF 3DS etc formats show up but maxwell is not there... I read the info and think I put all the files in the correct place (and as i mentioned the plug in works)

I am running a Mac with the latest Sketcup 6 veriosn and the latest Maxwell plugin available.

I see there is a new veriosn comming out BUT you all seem to be able to export at least I can not even do that.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds to me like you installed the SU version 5 plugin. When SU 6 first came out I did that and it behaved exactly as you are describing, I could see the plugin menu, but no mxs export.

Yes there is a new one coming out, but there was another release a few weeks ago that gave us a SU6 p-i.... Make sure you have that one! (unless you can wait a day or two and just get the new one...)

Well I am not sure

I went to the site today and took the plugin that was dated Jan 26 07

Its called SkpToMXS.plugin and the read me says Read Me - SU6.html

So I suspect I may have an old version lurking around in a directory somewhere that is confusing SU 6.. I will go on a hunt...

Thanks for the help... if you thin kof anything else.. would love to hear... sometimes a coulope of days with software can be longer... but I have no complaints... with Maxwell it has been worth the wait.

Thanks

Peter

You need to put the "SkpToMXS.plugin" inside the SketchUp APPLICATION's plugin folder. Right click on the SketchUp application and select "show Contents" Then navigate to the Plugins folder one or two levels down. You'll see other "SkpToXXX.plugin"s

The other contents of the maxwell plugin download go where you have already placed them.

That should get you going!

Chris

That did it
