I just started playing with V1 and I didn't get into RC5, but from what little I saw, you use the maxwell stand alone material editor and create your material. Then you save that as an mxm file. Then in SU, you select the surface you want to manipulate and under the Plugin>Maxwell Export>Set mxm material.
I think that should do it.

Hi.
Don't know if this is only me but, isn't applying maxwell materials in sketchup a pain in the ass, when you have to pick faces/objects one by one and apply the .mxm to it?
And what about UV stuff, like rotating a texture 90ยบ (for not mention texture adjustments) in some faces?

You're right. I usually assign standard SU materials as I go and then later do a "Select all with same material" and then apply the maxwell material.
The UV issue is another valid point. It's often better to use 3ds (if that's what you use) to handle those issues.
But, you're right, it can take some getting used to.
