It happens when objects are mirrored. Try reverse faces on one side..

I can't see the problem. The legs are ok, reflective all over; it's only that it's reflecting a dark surface.
For the bumps use another light position to make the geometry stand out.

yeah..agree with others..its all reflective... you're thinking the dull gray areas are 'rough metal'...but its really just reflecting the dull gray walls...give those walls a color or a texture and you'll be happy

Change the color of the cushion to red, just to test it. I bet it's reflecting correctly.
Skydome does not produce hard shadows and tends to low down all bumps; it's a very diffuse light; try with sun or an emitter.

That looks like the Barcelona chair from FormFonts? I modified mine so the bumps of the cushion are stronger, but bumps and humps should be there, and they will look better with sunlight or emitters, (with skydome there are not a lot of shadows to bring out the shapes). Also a bit of reflection would be needed for realistic leather.
A bit of roughness on the legs will make them look better (around 0,2).

In the original (to the left) only the buttuns are indented, and the rest is coplanar faces. I added slightly raised parts to bring out the form better.

There is not much you can do to improve the legs exept redraw them with a tighter mesh. It is problem of low-poly models of FormFonts.
