Hello sheik,

just read again the basictutorial and i feel glad to see someone pointed me out.
I know it'a lot of work but i'll beg you to continue this great stuff.
For a noob like me it 's most important to get sorted information in conjunction with my app. ( The direct rendering from SU to MXI ...the Studio is secondary and will learned by time)
The appartly threads are simply confusing me.( Technical stuff, to many apps, different workflows and different usergroups - on different sides)
Maybe there are new perception with RC5 and the handling by Owdens Contextmenue.
Hope to see something/sometimes 8)

best regards Burkhard

It is nice to hear the tutorial was useful. I will update it at some point, but I am still learning to use RC5 myself. RC6 will be here in some time, and maybe there will be some changes to the plugin also. Maybe late next week… (This is not a "NextLimit promise").

Hi Sheik!

I read, you posted a basic tutorial for su to maxwell... Does that tutorial still apply to rc5?

kind regards!

Take the updated second one.
It's basic, so it is to be adapted for RC5

Specials to RC5/6 will be updated after some tests.

Sorry boys & girls,
I haven’t updated the tutorial for RC5 yet. I did start working on it, but most of the materials just work so badly using the current plugin, so I decided to wait for RC6. Hopefully the plugin in RC6 will be more functional…
Currently I have been exporting to Studio. It is not as difficult as it looks at first sight. It is just the same settings as in the plugin, but it is all visible at once and that makes it look more complicated than it is. I have also been studying the new material system, which I find better than the old, but that too still needs some more work.

Hi to all,
I started building a scene for a new tutorial, but for now only the diffuse material is working from the plugin, so I had to do most of the material settings in studio. So when we have an improved plugin I should be able to get it finished rather quickly.

Very nice Sheik.
The only criticism I would have is with the wood material at the ceiling which is tiling quite noticibly. I also read about the problems you had with the downlight emitters. Did you try bumping up the intensity?

You removed the glass for this image too, right?

Thanks Jaz11,
Yes I had to remove the windows. In this image I also pumped up the lights to 220 Watts, but they still look dim. I haven’t gotten a proper answer to what Watts this is actually referring to, or maybe it is just not “calibrated” yet. I am also looking for a better plank texture for the ceiling.
Vodka79, I havent tested this with a night shot yet.
