Quite simple really, what sort of order should lights of different types get added to simplify the process?

Hi there Mike. Seems like the forums have become quite quiet again!

For internal renders, my process of lighting the scene generally entails placing area lights at all external windows/doors. I usually have an hdri set up as well that provides the directional light, which is easier to control reflections/refractions etc. After I have a reasonable result with the daylight, I will add in the main room lights and then any supplemental LED strip lights/wall lights if specified etc.

Depending on the size of the room, or main focus of the camera, I may place one, or two soft box textured lights around and behind the camera to light specific areas that need boosting to try and create balanced lighting and help reduce noise in the rendered image. A room in a roof where the main light sources are smaller rooflights would be a good example for using these.

G'day Sir.

Sorry I did not reply. No excuse, I do not intend to be ignorant but perhaps a little too occupied/stupid may apply. Stay well you and yours.
