Cinema to Studio Export that retains groups

Hi guys,
I am fairly new to Cinema and Cinema for Maxwell in general and have come to a situation, where I am really close to the solution, but not quite there yet:)
So, in C4D 20 with the latest Maxwel plugin I am trying to export a scene to Studio and what I would like is to retain the grouping hierarchy from Cinema. If I export the model via the plugin, I just get a bunch od separated geometry.
I managed to get what I want by saving the file as .abc and importing it to Studio, but the geometry gets simplified and I loose the materials.
Is there a way to do this via the Plugin? The Cinema groups were generated when I imported a step file, should I "group" them differently in Cinema, to achieve this?
I am attaching two print screens to illustrate this, the first is from cinema and the second is of Studio with the .abc format import, that unfortunatelly simplifies the geometry and removes the material.
