Hello,

nice new feature.
will version 5.1 have a general optimization on the code? or faster?
despite this period do you expect me to arrive before summer?

many thanks.

On studio side we worked on stability with 5.1 and the patch after it. ¿5.1 before summer? We are working to relase this month.

Playing with the new version now. This is GREAT!

The Substance Assistant is very well-designed. Am in the middle of a project with all Substance materials. This is making my workflow so much better. So far, no problems encountered. . :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

You folks do wonderful work!

OK, one suggestion for the documentation for the Substance Painter Assistant -- Some additional text....

If you have created a material (or "texture") in Substance Designer or by using a SBSAR, you can use the Substance Painter Assistant to create the Maxwell version of the material. The only difference is that you will need to navigate to the location of the material, and then load each of the individual maps for this material into their appropriate slots manually.

After selecting the "Substance Painter Assistant" from the "Custom" tab, for the "Any substance texture" slot, navigate to the location of the material, and select the "base Color" map for the material. This will create an option just above the slot for you to choose from "Metallic" or "Glossy." Select the appropriate material type for your material. Next, one at a time, load in each of the other maps for your material into their appropriate slots.

Remember to click on the Update button before using, or before saving your material. You may want to "Convert To Advanced" to further develop this material.

Hi,

yes the Substance assistant works very well. One can use every *.sbsar file. Using the Substance Player -> export the Basecolor and sidecar files -> than loading the files in MXED -> some finetuning -> finished.

It's great, thanks a lot

It really is great! I was having trouble recreating a special patinaed brass in Maxwell. But just loaded my maps into the Substance Painter Assistant, and "Boom!", there is was. (Mostly, a few minor tweaks in the Advanced settings, and it is perfect.) Damn! This is really going to save us all a LOT of time!

Well Done, compadres !Esta magnifico! Muchisimas Gracias!

Just first step. Sbsar is planned too.

Good to know......

Apologies if that suggestion was out of place. I know that it's pretty easy to figure out how to do it, but as long as I was working with your tool, I thought that some oe might need a little more explicit instructions. Apologies for making a dumb suggestion.

No no, don't feel sorry at all. I mean, the assistant is meant to be used with Painter exporter, and try to automate that. But the transformation from those textures to maxwell is universal for substance (and other PBRs with some tweaking). At the very end, they are all tools. Use it, and try to help others to use it as it fits you.
