Maxwell Render | Official public forum

Hi,

I just installed v5 on a new laptop. (win 10 / MSI creator 17 / i7 11800H / RTX 3080 16GB)

Got the license hostID updated (thanks to support)

But I can't start maxwell render successfully. Neither by clicking on the icon or by starting from within Rhino (the license I have is for Rhino)

The whindow briefly pops up, but the interface never shows(stays blank white) and closes again, without any error message.

I cannot start the material manager either. Nothing happens.

However I can start the node (which states license is active)

Any clues much appreciated. I also wrote to support but maybe someone has an idea also?

first try to run as an administrator, sometimes it helps.
second I think you might be missing a DLL that sometimes you have to install all sort of libraries (I've used in v.4 as written in the help manual).

yeah.. support got back to me and it was about a .dll that was out of date.

Seems to be related to latest installs of win 10
