Hi,

I'd like to know if Maxwell 5 will benefit from Nvidia's NVLink technology in multi-GPU rendering in the near future. 2 cards = double memory? ...

Best,
Alex

I don't think so. Our way to go let's you mix cards of different architecture, and no need for specific code for those using any kind of SLI. I see the benefit of sharing memory, but it can have impact on performance. I think the proper time to study it's use will be when we start thinking on do a BPT on GPU.

Hmm... but this doesn't mean that caustics through dielectrics won't be possible until BPT isn't fully implented ?

Short: yes
Long: yes, but some caustics created by sun can be arcieved thanks to sun mollification.
