Low resolution fonts on Mac OS Catalina

Attached is a screen shot.
The application fonts for Studio and Maxwell render appear blurred/low res on my laptop
Notice the difference between the system menus and app menus
Is there some driver I need to install?
Mac OS 10.15
2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

It's the same in macOS Mojave and has been since r4 and the case for the whole Maxwell range... I think something is not right with the font settings in general. In the Maxwell preferences there's an option to change the font size under 'Appearance' but all it changes (after a restart) is the line spacing in the pull down menus not the font size itself.

Does this have something to do with hi-dpi screens?
The changes made to adapt to 4k screens were mostly tested on desktop-sized monitors. Most probably on the laptop, it's scaling more.
We'll try to improve this.

Let me refute myself. You are absolutely right. Text looks scaled as in fact is, and it has been like this for a long time. We'll fix this.

FYI - this is problem also exists on MacOS 10.14.6 (Mojave) on a MacBook Pro (Retina Screen).
