So I love using my 5k iMac, but it doesn't have an NVIDIA GPU and it's only quad-core machine. Would this be ideal for industrial design renderings? Should I buy a dedicated PC with like an 18-core XEON and render over the network? Is rendering over the network any slower? Lastly, does Multilight work over Network? Thanks!

It all depends on what you want to do. GPU or CPU based renders? A multi-core CPU like a Xeon isn't very relevant if you're going fo GPU based renderers.
