Misunderstanding lighting emitters

Hello !

I'm actually crying in front of my screen because I'm missing a point but I don't know where…
So here is my first set in Maxwell Studio. It is a very basic set-up just to familiarize me with M.

I'm trying to work with "realistic" settings, BUT :

- with a "common" camera settings at the end i'm totally underexposed. ( and I don't want to put 10000000 ISO to have a normal lighting)

I think I make a mistake with the light emitters, because I need to push them over 80 000 W/400 lm/W for having a classic result. And like I told you you before I want to be "realistic".

You can have a look below, Please if you can give me a hand before I went mad

Your camera's fstop is set to 1 which is unrealistic.

Also, it's better to use planes instead of boxes for emitting light. That way the full power of the emitting material is directed at your objects instead of out into space.

That scene is really big. The grid is 8m. You have to keep scale in mind.

The f stop looks like 1000, not 1. It's an impossibly small hole. No wonder things are under-exposed.

jrm1 it's a locality difference, some countries use commas for decimal notation

Take a look at this section in the online docs:

http://support.nextlimit.com/display/ma ... +you+begin

Will probably save you some troubles later on, and especially render time. You can also search the docs there.

My apologies.
