Hi - as per title Cinema R20 is failing to start with the Maxwell plugin folder in its plugin directory, when removed Cinema continues to start as normal. It doesn't crash, just gets stuck on the splash screen infinitely.

Using the 4.2.3 pack, Windows 10 Pro (64gb, threadripper 2950), R20. The only other installed plugins are Cycles4D and XParticles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Iain,

I guess it is because the installer was not able to overwrite 2 files inside Maxwell installer folder.

Please check these files inside the Maxwell folder /extensions-x64-v140/LensExtensions.win64.mxx and MaxwellMesher.win64.mxx

What if you temporarily remove these files? Dies it start?

Hello,

Please, check this folder: C:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R20\plugins\Maxwell for Cinema 4D

There you will find a couple of files called LensExtensions.win64.mxx and MaxwellMesher.win64.mxx (you will find another one, but you shouldn't touch that one). Copy the files mentioned and paste them into C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell Render 4\extensions-x64-v140 (Maxwell has to be closed). After doing that, Cinema will start normally.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
Fernando

Thank you, copying over the two files in the Maxwell folder corrected the issue!
