I see that "MAXWELL V4 " is $595.00 and includes the upgrade from V3 to V4 and a Connection of my choice. I assume that could be the ArchiCAD add-on ? I don't know what is being called Connections, integrations, plug-ins, add-ons...
"You can upgrade to V4 directly from any older version (V1, V2, V3). One license seat equals one upgrade.
You get 2 licenses per upgrade: one license + another one for FREE. You upgrade one old license seat and thus you get 2 x V4 licenses. You can choose between 2 plugin integrations or one plugin and Maxwell | Studio."

In the case of Maxwell, all of them are basically the same thing. In the case of ArchiCAD ecosystem, people are used to the term "Add-on" when referring to a plugin or any program that adds functionality to ArchiCAD.
Traditionally we have used the term "Plugin" when referring to the software that integrates into other platforms to provide the tools to get renders done in Maxwell from inside that host application. At that moment we had to install two different things with different installers: the plugin on one side (which was a connection with Maxwell) and Maxwell main files on the other (which are the engine files, core, Maxwell Render and other common tools).
In V4, we started selling the different plugins independently. Each of them included in the same installer all the common tools and components except Studio. We started calling them "Integrations" as it suggests a deeper relationship with the host app and in one installer, everything is included: the plugin of your choice and all the required common files and components except Studio.
Studio is considered a different product on its own.
The term "Connection" is more used in the case of Realflow (RF connect) as it suggests a lighter, less integrated relation with the main software. They were not much more than a way to get particles or fluid meshes into other platforms (a bit more than an importer). The concept of plugin or integration implies a deeper relationship with the host platform. Currently, we are creating plugins for Realflow that connect deeply with the different platforms.
So in the end, we are talking about the same thing but with different levels of integration: the software to connect a particular 3D modelling program with our products. Nevertheless, sometimes the terms are used as synonyms.

In short: in the case of Maxwell all the plugins can be considered integrations (the deeper level of relationship) as they include all the features, all Maxwell components (except Studio) and they are available from the host platform.
So now, when you upgrade a previous license (V3), you get two V4 licenses and you can choose if they are for two integrations (call them plugins if you want) or one integration and Studio. For example, they could be one of the following options:

• 2 licenses of Maxwell for Archicad.

• 1 license for Maxwell for Archicad and 1 of Studio.

• 1 license for Maxwell for 3dsmax and 1 Maxwell for Archicad.

Apparently, Connections are not the same as an add-on, plugin, or integration. And there is no ArchiCAD Connection?
Where is the list of available "Connections" for the $595 offer?
