Maxwell Render | Official public forum

OK, I've been taking in all the beautiful work being done on Maxwell and I'm really really close to pitching in a getting a copy.
But I have a couple of quick questions....

Maxwell is a stand alone program yes ?
So I can model in FormZ and then export to Maxwell until the FormZ plug-in is published ?

What format does it accept ?

I'm sure I have a ton more questions but I can't think of any right now.....

I use a dual 2Ghz G5.....does anyone use anything less than this and what sort of rendering times are you looking at so it is presentable professionally speaking ?

Hi,

The plugin for FormZ will be as the rest, as adelhus said. The integration level in formZ will be similar to the other plugins in each platform. The plugin will be released at the same time for Mac and Windows with no difference at all. In fact we have done even more tests in mac.

Sorry, you will need the latest version of formZ. We would like to provide compatibility to formZ 4 but it is absolutely impossible, the sdk of formZ 4 was not prepared to develop a plugin for Maxwell. But anyway we have tested formZ 5 even 5.5 and this is each time more stable, you can work fine with it.

You just need the modeler. All the shader work is done outside of renderzone tools so you do not need it. The plugin will be released in a few weeks, (3 or 4 maximum)

just out of interest, does anyone who uses FormZ here do POP or retail design with it ?
I'd be interested to see some examples of Maxwell Render related to my industry.
