Maxwell beta 1.2.2 wont start G5

Same old problem by the sound of it, but i've tried all the solutions i've seen posted before. I've run onyX to check permissions. I went through Kabe's [i think thats right!] install instructions, after already fully going through the instructions that come with Beta version 1.2.2. Nothing.
The Cinemaxwell 0.6 plugin for Cinema4D seems to be ok because it is making the .mxs files in the output folder in the Maxwell application, but nothing happens when I hit Render - sometimes it spins for a couple of seconds then nothing!
Nothing happens when i double click the test file rgb.mxs that comes with mawell.
Anyone any ideas?

I have a dual 2gz G5 with OS X 10.4.2 [which other people say is working fine] Cinema4D 9.102

cheers,

Rory.

Have you tried running mxcl in a shell?

Right... [i'm inexperienced at terminal stuff if you couldn't guess!]

I thought i had, but what i had tried was the commands from the manual.
mxcl -mxs:scene.mxs which results in - "tcsh: mxcl: Command not found."
I've tried the mxcl suggestion from an other post - $MAXWELL_ROOT/mxcl
this results in - "tcsh: /Applications/maxwell.app/Contents/MacOS//mxcl: Permission denied."

i've run the onyX permissions utillity again and still the same?
Is it just running the Verify and repair permissions Mac OS X option in Maintenace?

So it seems like it is a permissions issue? I still don't understand!

Also just tried completely wiping and reinstalling.
And your - chmod -R 777 /Applications/maxwell - suggestion this results in - chmod: /Applications/maxwell: No such file or directory - this i don't understand as the maxwell application is in the applications folder?

Same result here.

Funny as I just reinstalled the alpha successfully (to test) and it runs fine. I'm not very comfortable messing with the terminal and system files. Time for me to give up and wait for a much more mature beta or the final product.

FINALLY!!!!!

the chmod -R 777 /Applications/maxwell thing worked, I just needed to add the .app on the end.

Ya Dancer.
