Everything related to Maxwell Render and general stuff that doesn't fit in other categories.

Recently, I went to look through my material library in Windows Explorer and rather than displaying the correct material preview, the one displayed in the Material Editor, all .mxm files were the default "white sheet with the corner folded over" icon.

I haven't change anything with regards to Maxwell (Maxwell for Rhino and Maxwell for Revit) since the time I know they were displaying correctly, and have tried reinstalling Maxwell, to no avail. I'm hoping this is an easy fix, as I use Windows Explorer very frequently to search through and share materials, etc.

P.S. - the exact same issue has presented itself with my coworkers computer, at, I'm assuming, the same time.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I don't know about the Revit plugin, if you use the version 4.0.5 Maxwell for Rhino installer from the early builds page (here), there is a checkbox provided for installing the shell extension. In double-checking that it works fine (which it does, not even requiring restarting Explorer, at least here on win10), I see that it is probably confusing though, because when adding it, I did not notice that the banner on the page where this appears only refers to the license manager (also an optional install).

Thank you so much for this, I tried everything I could think of, including uninstalling and reintalling Maxwell (albeit 4.0.3, which DOESN'T have the shell ext installer). This fixed it, although I did have to restart Windows Explorer (Win 10, x64) to see the change. Thanks again!
