Maxwell Render | Official public forum

I have been using version 4 Maxwell Editor (MXED) with no problems until today. Now when I attempt to run MXED, it does appear on screen, but when I then click 'Update' button (to update the material view) I receive this: "ME Preview error: Not licensed for Production use. Render cannot continue."

Some further testing: version 3 MXED does NOT cause this error, only version 4. Maxwell Studio version 4 (the editor built into Studio) does NOT cause this error. The error occurred while using the original (non-beta) v4 software, so I have now updated to the latest beta versions (v4.008) for Maxwell Studio and Maxwell Render, but the error continues.

Yes, we have an issue with mxed and some licenses. We are working on it. Will be fixed in a future version.
