Network rendering

Hi

I need to start doing some network rendering with Maxwell 4. I have looked in the install folder and all I can see is the old Maxwell 3 network stuff. Do I use this? or am I missing something?

Also it looks like the render node licence type is floating only. Am I cool to set up an RLM just for these and carry on using the node locked Maxwell 4. I hope so as that is what I bought.. (worried).. If so, how do I do that please? There doesn't seem to be a download for standalone or similar..

Thanks

Neil

Maxwell 4 network system is on betas

http://www.maxwellrender.com/betas/plugin/23

In my opinion it works far better than official v3 version. But it's going trough testing before being official release.

Great, I will give it a try and let you know how I get on.

Will this one let me upload to Amazon EC2?

How do I go about running it on a mixed network.. i.e. mac and PC please?

What about the licensing, do I just set up a floating license server?

Sorry for all the questions!

Cheers

Neil

1) It can be used on amazon ec2. Be sure to set up a shared file storage and mount it on every machine. you can use the command line utility mxnetwork to launch the network without graphic interface. Also, if you have problems with the setup, I can DM you the email of the network developer, and he will be willing to help you.
2) mixed networks should work without intervention if there is an existing shared storage. Just run the nodes and point them to the ip of the manager
3) Network uses the license configured for maxwell. If you can run maxwell without license warnings the network will work.
