Vacuum Material in GPU

Hi,

Firstly, let me say that I love Maxwell 4, the GPU is super quick for me. I am really looking forward to seeing it progress.

I have been setting up a scene with emitters at the windows as per the photographic techniques video. In that it says to set up a vacuum material, i.e. Transmittance white, ND 1. This does not seem to work on GPU. Is there another way of doing this or do I need to render CPU?

This is Max 2017 btw.

Another thing is that I have found that Maxwell 3 renders a lot faster than Maxwell 4 in CPU. Hopefully this will be resolved in later releases.

Keep up the good work :-)

Cheers

Neil

Ok, after reading the logs it is not currently supported... Hopefully soon it will be :-)

Vacuum or ghost material is (or should be) partially supported on GPU. I am the one doing that. Should be ghost for camera, and working to making it ghost for light rays.

Hi Luis

Thanks for the reply. I have tried it on GPU and then switched to CPU. It works fine on CPU but no sunlight comes through on GPU. I am guessing it is that part that is not working yet?

Cheers

Neil

You're right Neil. We will fix it soon.
