Grazing Angle Roughness

Hi Dear Friends,

Besides all the new features and fixes, V3.2 comes with a very attractive improvement. As you know, a rough surface could look more glossy at the grazing. This has been previously discussed here on the forum (http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 11#p382311) and actually Maxwell's microfacet model has always been supporting this phenomenon. It's just the hardcoded behaviour was not perceptionally prominent enough. Now, the new adjustment brought it to life. Compare the images before and see the difference in reflections of lights on the wall. Currently, the behavior is still hardcoded and requires no additional adjustment. In the future, we could add some controls to the material settings but now... Enjoy!

I guess the type of bumpmap used will affect the amount of grazing glossiness, just like real-world surfaces.

i.e concave dips would minimize the effect, whereas domed bumps would maximize the effect.

I will install maxwell 3.2 this week and check it out, (need to install win7 first).
