[SOLVED] Maxwell Grass - Cylinder Root < Tip

I found this interesting bug in Maxwell Grass, when Root Width value is smaller than Tip Width value and using cylinder type,
Maxwell will render only the top of the cylinder.

Here is screenshot of extremely simplified scene :)

few notes:
- flat and curve type are rendering correctly
- Maxwell Render 3.1.0.1
- Windows 7 x64

Hi T0M0,

Yes this limitation has been there since the maxwell grass appeared, the cylinder primitive has always behaved like this because of the complexity of the mathematical solution. But after your post we have been thinking a bit more about it and we think we can break this limitation so we are already working to support it in the near future.

Thanks a lot,

nachob

Hi nachob,

thank you for the information, I just noticed it some time ago when I was tweaking settings.
IMO, I think that no one use it like this (thin root, thick top), but for artsy purposes could be nice :)

Anyway, thank you again :)

Code: Select all
Maxwell Render 3.1.0.2
- Support for hair with tip radius greater than root radius
Thank you so much Maxwell Render Team, you guys rock 8)
