maxwell 3.0.0.0

signal 11 crash does not occur on windows, with the exact same MXS file.
I have tested maya 2014 and 2015, and the crash is repeatable from all versions.

shutting off the embedded .EXR channel successfully renders the scene. All other embedded channels render fine, the crash is exclusive to a scene with an added custom alpha channel.
