Hello seghier,

You are right. It seems that the "Hidden to Camera in Shadow Channel" is adding the caustics on top of the image (as if it were hiding the objects to caustics as well).

We'll dive into this right now.
Thank you for pointing at this issue.

not sure, if this is the same origin... here's some cube becoming semi-transparent, when it is excluded from camera in the shadow channel.

the shadow channel itself seems to be having a problem with the emitter object, too:

here's the scene:

EDIT:
it seems, this only happens witht emitters in the scene.
if it's the sun, that generates shadows, it won't happen.
also: the draft enginge doesn't produce this bug, only the production one does.

don't know about the issues that started this thread, but at least my issue has been solved with the 30995.
well, at least the part with the object becoming semi-transparent.

the issue with the black dots that seem to appear around the emitter object is still present.
may be that this firefly-ish black dots are supposed to build up the shadow that occurs behind an emitting plane in the long run, eventually.
haven't tried that though, guess it would need quite a lot of rendering time.

probably this always was the case, never occured to me though...
