i have questions about some features:

a developer made opendvb viewer : http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 19&t=42238
-New tool in Studio to create 360 turntable and time lapse animations : can we add motionblur in studio when animate objects ?
-Floating shadows/reflections in Draft render mode : can maxwell now render object and shadow with transparent background ? and can we use image as background ( like in keyshot ) ?
- spotlight is nice feature . it's better than ies is some cases ; when you release the version 3.1 ? i need it for humster 3D competition :D

Sounds really cool!

Above all the new things, I will love the "Render Zones" feature. I'll use it a lot for sure.

Thanks for everything!

That OGL vdb viewer is certainly interesting- regarding Studio though, no you can't see the object for now.

Yes the 360 animation tool does motion blur - it's "built into" Maxwell itself, ie if something moves between frames you can do MB. You control it as usual with the camera parameters: http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mx ... otion+Blur

The shadow tool I think for now doesn't save a transparent image with the shadow. This could be added in the future though.

Nothing is stopping you from using 3.1 beta right now :) It's not like it's half done or in alpha stage.

I see 3.0.99.3 at the beta site. Is that supposed to be it?

Hello seghier,

About your questions:

- Floating shadows/reflections: Can Maxwell use an image as background as Keyshot? of course you can use an HDRI image as background (even if you don't use it for illumination or reflections) both in spherical mode or planar mapped to the screen frame.

- Animation is Studio, can add motion blur? Yes, of course, and the motion blur will depend of course on the motion of the object and the shutter speed of the camera (as in any Maxwell animation). The provisional documentation is here: http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mx ... +in+Studio

- Render Zones: the provisional documentation can be found here: http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mx ... a+Sampling

why maxwell team don't make update of new features only like old versions ? without need to download +340mb every time

Because now it's no problem to download 340, but wasting time selecting files is a problem.
