grass crash

i have a scene here where if there is a map set in the slot for length AND a variation set to a value above ~20
(i tested 0,1,25,33,)
maxwell will crash when allocating the grass data structures.
running maxwell 3.0.1.0

Hi Tom,
i boiled it down a bit please try this:
running 3.0.1.0
- open studio
- import a plane 1x1
- create a default grass extension
- set root width to 15mm
- set tip to 4mm
- render to fire: should be ok and stable
- now load any map into the texture slot under Lentgh (variation will be at default 60%)
- maxwell studio crashes with fire. in rhino i get an access violation but no full crash when starting fire.
- when rendering to maxwell.exe the process crashes when allocating data structures
let me know if you still need my scene. it seems it is a combination of parameters, eg when root is set to 7mm not 15, it renders ok.
