Odd problem with Big MXS files on OSX

Hi guys,
I have found a very odd issue with 2.6 which may be only with the OSX version or may be for all versions. I have a very large model that I have exported from Rhino in bits to make three MXS files. Here is my typical workflow:-
1. I then load one of the MXS files into Studio and import the other two and save. Open the Big MXS file (1.4Gb) in Maxwell and render. This works fine.
2. I then open the Big MXS file in Studio and make a minor tweak (such as changing a material on one object). Everything looks as it should. Then I save the Big MXS. When I reopen the Big MXS file in either Maxwell or Studio, half the objects are missing. I have tried this several times and every time it is the same.
If I go back to task 1, it always works fine. The save after the import always works, but not the save after the material change.
Most odd. Any ideas?
