V2.0 Network render won't work between different OS

Has anyone been able to get network rendering going between macs with different OS?

I have 3 computers, 8 core Mac Pro Intel, Quad core G5, and a 24' iMac. The Mac Pro and Imac are running Snow Leopard 10.6 and the G5 is running OS 10.5.6.

All machines have valid licenses and all appear as render nodes inside Network Manager, however the G5 will not render it just says "rendering" but nothing happens and the job never progresses for this machine/node. I tried a very simple scene files and I couldn't get anything to or from the G5. Connection between Mac Pro and Imac works perfectly.

Any suggestions would be really great.

Cheers, Pete

Yes they did, but I haven't had time to re-test their suggestion, here is what they said:

"As we can see in the Address list,(all my machines had different address numbers/locations) you are using different sub-network per each machine. This is a highly risky configuration.
The optimal configuration should be having all the computers in the same sub-network.
Please, check your network configuration in the System Preferences/Internet&Network/Network panel and disable all the subnets or ethernet setups you are not using to avoid confusing the network manager.
And make sure that the main network address in that list is the one in which all the nodes in the farm belong to"

I have limited experience with network configuration so executing this suggestion is a little hazy but I will have a go again soon.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

I have all our macs in the same c class address as the modem issues all the macs with an IP number on start up.
There are all connected to the same network hub and at the same speed connection as we found to our cost with maxwell 1.7 network rendering.

Did manage to get it rendering by turning off "send textures" so the nodes get the textures for themselves.
But collecting the images at the end is still a problem and the mxi seems to disappear from the temp folder.

Good Luck
