Hi

I have had the same problem but did just find the answer 5 min ago  .

First thing to check out: does maxwell run properly under the terminal?
(in the terminal, type: $MAXWELL_ROOT/mxcl)
This will ensure that the environment plist is properly set and that your license file is recognized.

When it's done, maxwell still need to be bound to mxs files by the system.
To do this, simply double clic on a .mxs file, say ok when the system tells you Maxwell will be launched for the first time and that's it!
Now fire up Ligtwave and load a scene, maxwell should work as expected.
Enjoy

Hi, jdavidbakr
I have the environment.plist file in ~/.MacOS but it doesn't seem to be sticking to the variable.
"environment.plist" should be in "~/.MacOSX". Hope this will fix your problem.

OK.

I think that the problem is running on Jaguar (Well, it's not about compatibility...) I maybe wrong, but now I think that "environment.plist" thing was introduced with Panther. I remember using other files like ".profile" or ".tcshrc" (not sure... I will look up and let you know) to set environment variable under jaguar for some unix apps...

I am checking some docs for this, and I will post reply as soon as I find out (hopefully in an hour or so).

Can you check which shell do you use (use "env" command and tell me what the line "SHELL=" says... should be either "/bin/bash" or "/bin/tcsh")?
I though that default shell under jaguar was tcsh (sorry, I don't have a machine with Jaguar installed)... but my memory is...

Also, can you run "ls -a" at your root diectory and tell me if any of ".tcshrc", ".bash_profile" or ".profile" exists.
