Network Render not working???

Practically a carbon copy here of the previous thread. And similar to others with Network issues on Mac......

I also have been away from trying network rendering even while I have a second G5 Quad sitting next to an 8Core MacPro (which I use as a single node currently). I would like to try and link these up and I have some new networking components in place and thought I might try to get it going today.

I have a 1TB Time Capsule set up as an Ethernet Hub. Both macs are connected via Ethernet cables and all three communicate fine.

I created a folder on the Time Capsule called "Maxwell Hub" and I plan to export MXS via Pack and go to this folder and then add the MXS as a job in the Network render tab.

While Adding, I change all paths for MXI and image to the Maxwell Hub folder and check coop.

Both the MacPro and the Quad are "Ready" and they begin to start "Receiving MXS" but the Quad stays at 0% and the MacPro stays at 5%. I have to quit MXCL Server on both machines to clear out the JOB. Stop and Remove do not work.

Then I tried to send the job to just the Quad. I launched the MXCL Sever on the Quad and the Manager on the MacPro and added the job to the Quad from the same Maxwell Hub folder on the Time Capsule. This time, the job went over through 100% and then the server on the quad crashed and the Job Queue says "Lost".

I guess I am lost too. I assume there are still problems with network rendering. I am not going to try and do much more until I ask if any one might have any suggestions? Nacho?

Sorry for my bad englih wite - I'am Italian

To solve your problem is very simple ... you must re-edit the .MXS from pack and go and specify the network location for each file esternally used by meterials (Texture .IOR .R2 and so on )...

afert the pack and go operation all files (Textures files .R2 files .IOR .MXI and .MXS) are store in the same location...

the pack and go operation is only a a tool that put all files in the same location...

if you want to render in a cooperative mode you must edit the scene (file. MXS) from pack and go and you must edit every material and you must put the NETOWORK LOCATION uesed by MAC to arrive to 1TB ...

Every material is composed by one or several external file such as Texture, .IOR .R2 and so on...
if these files are store in a network location the sene and each file used by materials must known how to use the network location.

for esample:

if you use a metrial with a texture stored in \\fileserver\mylocation

you must specify the network location for that texture

The pack and go permit you to render a file only from maxwell render not from a server / manager enviroment...

try and tell me if you have any problems

Maxwell Render is Fantastic !
