It would be nice if one could hear something from the software makers regarding this very important feature.
I have never got the network render to work in OSX, whatever flavor. Maybe someone from NL could explain
what the problem is, why it doesn't work as advertised, and how we are going to be compensated.

Hi all,

We are working hard on it, we hope to have a solution for this very soon, but cannot give you an exact timeframe, sorry.

Hum... I see this thread has been here for a while...

How are you guys rendering on OSX with network rendering? I am creating my MXS files on a Windows machine but thought I would use my Macbook pro with 4gb to run the renders...

Obviously I'm trying to figure out how this could be done. The Rhino plugin has a "pack and play" option that theoretically wraps all the needed files in a directory to be used in the render. This sounds like a workable solution (lots to transfer over the network...), but I'm curious to know if anyone has another approach...

Cheers,

T.

I don't know if there's a specific problem with rendering on a mac os x farm (since I haven't used M~R for ages), but I once managed to do a hybrid Mac - PC coop render with success. Go to this thread http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=24594
and scroll down to see my setup

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi nachob,

Is there any progress on sorting this out? Any chance it might be fixed in 1.7?

Thanks,
