...am affraid there seems to be a problem with it at the moment. I can get the machines to see each other but they won't load the mxs file. It has something to do with file paths to network drives.
the correct people have been notified. hopefully a fix will be out in due course.
edit: To get it to work use a local (public) folder on your mac to host the mxs file & its associated assets. This is the only way i can get it to work.

Thanks sampson for the info, its a shame next limit aren't a bit more fore coming with the info. It would save them and me a lot of time.
Problem, according to one of their technical guys today, the coop rendering is working under 10.5.1
But after five hours of trying the same file paths are a problem, they must have special macs!
So I do-not think this will be sorted in the near future!!!

...well it does work (i have it running here right now), its just being a tad more awkward about picking up the files, so you have to store them elsewhere until a fix is released.
a little more info please

Could you expand a little on this.
Where have you store the files or organised them to work for you.
I would love to know as it has defeated me.

to get it working i have stored the scene files on my manager machine in the public folder under my admin account (make sure you've gone in to system prefs/sharing & set that folder up to read and write). This is an AFP & not SMB folder/volume like nachob mentioned in the other thread, your other macs should be able to find the mxs across this style of thread. This particular volume type is mac based & thus they chat happily.
my problems seemed to occur as previously my scene & associated files were sat on a server which wasn't a mac, this was fine till leopard but since then i've had to ensure i was running the files out of a mac volume. Its a temporary hitch and just one of those things that kick up with consecutive app & os releases.
cheers.

I have two Macs running current Leopard OS. One has a second drive in it that I have all my Material libraries on and I hoped that it could be a shared volume that the other mac would see as an independant drive. I had some limited success with this before upgrading to Leopard, but there were other NL issues preventing complete success.
How would you suggest setting up the system to work? I am working in Studio on the machine that hosts the second drive. The other machine is the server node. Do I need to save my scenes with PAck and go and place them on both machines or do I only need to PAck and Go and place on the shared drive?
Are there firewall settings to enable / disable as well?
Thanks! I really need to get this working!

hi daniel,
i have my scene assets in the designated public folder on the manager mac. i didn't need to copy them across to each node.
