Quick way to rename objects/groups in Studio for OSX

I need to rename 120 objects.
Is there a shortcut to highlight/select objects for renaming?
Scrolling to the RENAME command for each selected object takes a month of Sundays.
A triple click or key shortcut would be helpful.

These are issues you should try and find solutions for with other ways, first of all why do you need to rename so many objects? Wouldn't it be easier just to group them and rename the group so you have more clarity?

The reason is simple
Importing new models into a scene when all the objects have default names (object 1,object2 ....object 10 etc ) into a scene where existing objects already have these names causes PROBLEMS !!
I need to rename in maxwell otherwise I need to change object names in my other app and then reimport into maxwell and setup materials all over again.

Well this is not "quick" but the way to change names in Studio on MacOSX is to highlight the name and then hit RETURN. This allows you to type a new name and then if memory serves you hit RETURN another time to commit the change.
Hope that's what you're looking for.
cheers

pipcleo, then I would suggest to rethink your workflow, if you put yourself in the position of having to import other objects into the scene. Would there be a way to just create the scene at once? Could you merge some objects before exporting? What applications do you use and in what format are you exporting them in?

Thanks macitect!
pipcleo, did hitting RETURN solve the problem?

My pleasure. I needed this a while back and F2 didn't work for me then either.
I do work in somewhat the same way. I like to keep my models simple because I don't use them just for rendering so I end up importing many objects that I've prepared in Studio before.

Mac ...yep thanks , that does the trick... Tom , Mihai thanks.
I use fz and export to studio.
Mihai ... my workflow maybe sucks but I created mxs files for automobiles in 1.1 / 1.5 long ago and did not give these objects meaningful names. The default names for old objects "clashes" with object names of new arch projects and I dont want to bugger round setting custom names for objects in each new project I create.
This would not be a problem if there was a way to import new objects into a studio scene that already that have the same name as existing objects WITHOUT the new objects (or old) MESSING UP.
This import problem has also existed for a while now.
