Tiger and Lightwave

Wasn't sure which forum to stick this-I'll start here.
I loaded Tiger, upgraded to Lighwave 8.3 anf thought I'd try to render an image in Maxwell through the plugin. Everything was cool till I hit render frame. A dialogue box came up and said QuickTime was unable to open the .mxl file or didn't know what to do with it. I associated the mxl file with maxwell (Probably wrong) and now when I hit render it does nothing. Should I associate it with the plugin.
Any ideas?

Are you running a G4 or a G5? If a G4 you'll need to install the G4 compile (from the download page) and repair the permissions on it for Maxwell to run. Associating the file (.mxs) to the Maxwell.app was the right thing to do - you may just have an install problem.

Can you run Maxwell from the command line?

Haven't tried yet. If it gets to that point, I'll just wait of the GUI version. Everything worked fine until I loaded Tiger. Now no matter what I do it always tries to open QuickTime when I hit render. I reassociated the files, the whole works.
I really don't want to get into the command line thing.

jake, it happened here too, you have to assign the render paths in the maxwell menu, output tab with the correct file name endings, '.mxs' and '.tga' respectively. this resolved the problem on my side, at least on panther...
cheers

Everthing checks out. Since I've associated the files with maxwell, nothing happens now.The path and file names are all there. Plugins loaded successfully-everything seems fine. Hit render-nothing.

no error message (look in the lowest gray text area in the maxwell render menu)? in this case, maxwell doesn't accept the render file because of an irregularity. try to check this out, maybe. hope this helps.
