user account problem

Hi there

I'm installing Maxwell on six Apple computers for educational purposes.

I'm installing the software within an administrator account.

I want the students to use Maxwell through another account though - I don't want them to mess around with my administrator password, of course.

The thing is, Maxwell won't start up in other accounts. How do I work around this? The folders within the Programs/Maxwell folder have red crosses allover them...

(I'm sorry if this is totally banal, but I'm pretty new to Mac OS, I'm more of a Windows guy, myself).

Could you post how you solved this as when I have switched to another user the program does not open and upon switched back the other account it now does not work and I have to reload maxwell.

This one goes for Apple computers only...

You have to go into the admin account and "view info" for the maxwell folder. Then set user account priveleges in there... Remeber to check the "Use this setting for subfolders also..." in the bottom.

I'm sorry if I don't use the exact descriptions of these commands, but right now I don't have access to a Mac, so it's just from memory...
