trying to launch a render by clicking the render buttons in studio but to no effect. Have to go to the finder and click the file after I save it in Studio.

Hope its just silly me and someone willing to point me to the pref or trick to get rendering straight out of Studio again.

Was also waiting to see if the 8cores Mac's can set to 8 threads again instead of 6 but my logic board crashed and have to wait for 3 weeks for a new one. They seem to be all out of boards....

fv, sorry this isn't a soluion but I have the same problem!

I have a Macbook Pro and I haven't used Maxwell on it for a while but I'm sure the render from Studio used to work but now it isn't (render and preview in viewport both work).

My wife has an iMac and I've done a fresh install on that and render form Studio works! So I overwrote all the Maxwell directory on my Macbook Pro to see if a fresh install would work but it didn't.

They're both running the same version (1.5.1.0), I'm not sure what's happening but I'd really like to find a solution. The finder method works but it would be a lot easier if it rendered straight from Studio.

did you try to clean caches and restart? use onyx or cocktail or applejack to do so. it should help.

Ok, I'm new to Mac and don't really know what I'm doing!

Which caches do I need to clean?

I've downloaded OnyX and on the Cleaning>Caches page I have Applications and Fonts ticked by default (System and Kernel are off) should I just execute Applications (Fonts don't seem to be giving me trouble)?

Thanks for your help.

Finally got it to work.

I downloaded OnyX from the apple site http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/s ... /onyx.html and ran;

Maintenance->Optimize->Update - this redoes your prebindings!
&
Cleaning->Caches->Applications - this clears your cache.

At first Maxwell Server didn't seem to work but I then ran Maxwell Manager and then Maxwell Server (just to 'jolt' them into action!) and now everything works fine, including render using mxcl from Studio.

thanks for this tip. Had started this thead but have not been here for a while.

Had bought a 8 core Macpro but after a month or so of slugish performance was finally able to convince Apple it had a hardware problem. They had it in repair for 9 weeks now and I told them to contact my lawyer to settle things, I was so disgusted with the service. There is a new replacement Macpro on its way and Apple wants to compensate me with a few iPods........

After a dreadfull summer dealing with Apple and a for me expensive and failing system I am beginning to suffer from computer fatique. Turned down a few jobs because of the lack of computerpower and begin to like my life better without all the screenhours and finetuning renders.......
