Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for my question.
Today I installed the new version of maxwell render 1.5.1.0. When I use the old license file the mxstudio works good, but the mxcl runs not or just in the demo mode. And when I try the new license form (<<NAME>> <<Thomas Endesfelder>> <<ORGANIZATION>> <<Koenig & Bauer AG>> <<VERSION>> <<1.5.1.0>> <<TYPE>> <<STANDARD>> <<LICENSES>> <<4>> <<NODES>> <<0>> <<EXPDATE>> <<>> <<PLUGINID>> <<0>> <<SIGNATURE>> <<

Hi, I had a similar problem, too. MXSTUDIO would recognise my license but MXCL seemed to ignore it. I final found some info here...

It seems that the older version that I placed in the Trash Can was the problem. After I emptied the trash everything seemed to be working just fine. I hope this helps.

Thanks. That URL is the complete FAQ-section. Can you specify a bit what faq exactly helped you?

btw, I don't have anything in the trash can at the moment...

thanks in advance!

I see what you mean. Sorry about that... Uh, I found that info under the Installation topic (fifth link down from the top). The first paragraph makes reference to multiple copies of Maxwell Render on the same system, even if in the trash, causing some conflicts. There is more info in there too.

I hope that helps to narrow the field a bit for you.

Good luck!

There is a problem with macs with powerpc (ppc) processors and the new license.txt files that will be solved in the next update. In those machines the license file is not recognized in mxcl or mxstudio. If you have this kind of machine please contact through http://www.nextlimit.com/tech_support.php and explain your problem there.

If you are using an intel machine then probably the problem comes because you have more than one version of maxwell installed in your system.

thanks.

I don't have a PPC, I have a UB machine. I'm now rendering the scene without problems on my laptop, which is also UB. Appearantly the problem occurs on 8-core UB Macs but not on MacBooks.

I sent the scene file to the support guys. I hope they come with a solution. That MacBook of course isn't as fast as the 8-core. Besides, it should work properly, right?
