[solved] Any solutions to fireflies yet?

I've gone from red ffs in the render and black ffs in the preview in 1.5 OSX to white ffs in the render and still black ffs in the preview with 1.5.1. (ffs = fireflies.

) This is with renderings of diamond jewelry that worked in 1.1. If I hide the diamonds, no ffs. I tried rendering with the diamond_simple material and the diamond complex material. Both had ffs.
Is it a dispersion thing? Hmmm... I guess I could go try that.
Other than that, 1.5.1 is working great! > THANKS, NEXT LIMIT TEAM!!!
If I missed a solution to this, lemme know. I've been trying to read everything on the forum I could. (arg, must quit playing with Maxwell and GO TO BED.)

Same here. I only get them darn white dots in the final rendering with the mxcl renderer, not in the preview in studio though.....
Have you found out anything yet?

am still getting these white dots (only seems to happen on the OSX version) and have so far found the following.
White dots appear when: roughness is set between 1-10 & or attenuation is above 1nm. I can only seem to get them with transparent materials.
..the only fix i've found is to set the roughness to zero
...anyone else had any ideas?
(edit, ...if you need to roughen the surface up you can add an extra bsdf layer with roughness)

hi sampson
you are right. I set the roughness to 0 and the white dots are gone. But how would I make a white plastic with 10% roughness now? DANG thats a real bad bug, man. Hope NL can figure this out pretty soon!

...add a second bsdf with roughness & it'll work.
...also i've just dicovered that if you chuck in a second bsdf and just switch it off you also loose the white dots, ...so perhaps thats a better fix.
