Help!!!

An issue I may have described someplace already, yet the problem is still unsolved. This is what I wrote to NL support:
I’m on a Dual 2.5 GHz G5, Mac OS X 101.4.8. Maxwell will render only a view mx-materials; particularly if they use bitmaps etc. they are being ignored. Also, the material editor will load only a view. If I load mx-materials down from the materials library, put them where they belong and try to load them into the editor I am shown messages like „Texture not found: C:/Program Files/Next Limit/maxwell/materials database/textures/HAT_Brush.png“. If I locate the missing files then using the dialog boxes and save or export the material once the process is finished, Maxwell still won’t render it.
For a while I could at least create new materials of my own which Maxwell would accept, but at the moment any material that has been saved or exported will not be rendered. Even if I load a material into the editor and export it (without having changed any adjustment!) under a new name Maxwell refuses to render it. What can I do about that?
The answer I received: „Maxwell search for textures in some default folders and in the same folder the mxs file is, please copy all your texture files inside /Applications/Maxwell/materials database/textures/ or put them in the same folder your mxs file is located.“
Though the sender didn’t seem to have read my question at all I thanked him (or her) and repeated:
I did this already, of course! Despite that even most of the original next limit materials do not render. And as I said: for a while I could at least create new materials of my own which Maxwell would accept, but at the moment any material that has been saved or exported will not be rendered. If I load one of the the few working materials into the editor and save or export it (without having changed any adjustment!) Maxwell refuses to render it.
No answer yet.
Any advice?
