Linux version finished! But wait some more?

From the December news letter.
Quote "We have finished the Linux 64 bit version of Maxwell and Studio and it will be released with the next major update: Maxwell Render 1.2, which we target to have ready for the first quarter of 2007."
If the Linux version is done why not release it now? It's been long enough.
Am I the only one troubled by this?

I only bought Maxwell for 1 reason, Linux support.
It would be lovely to get a working linux version sooner.

Juan once wrote:We would be glad to make a public testing program but there is an inconvenience: We are not testing 1.1 but 1.2 which has confidential features that will not be revealed yet.
So even though it's done by now, i'm guessing they don't want us to blow the surprise. I'd like to have it for christmas as well though.

I admit I also bought maxwell because was the only commercial render standalone and linux compliant; at that time I was planning to switch to Linux completetly.
Almost 1.5 years passed by and I left smoking, I switched to mac instead of linux and I am moving to denmark... linux version is still idle in madrid...
ehehe ... don't mind...

me too

I also bought Maxwell becaue of their Linux suport. I was looking at v-ray or final render too. I have one windows pc, two laptops one mac mini and my Linux workstation that I preffer to use so I expected to use maxwell for that, I hope that the wait was worth it.

For us it'd be a HUGE update even having it on our platform. I'm secretly hoping they also tempered with the core/engine for 1.2 though
